Shipping Method

All orders to Canadian destination are shipped Canada Post Expedited Parcel Service or Xpresspost.

All orders to U.S. destinations are shipped Canada Post - United States Parcel Service.

All International orders are shipped Canada Post - Air or Surface mail.

All orders OVER $70.00 (excluding taxes) WITHIN CANADA* are shipped FREE OF CHARGE by Canada Post Expedited Parcel Service. See Expedited Parcel Service Delivery Schedule below.

For orders OVER $70.00 (excluding taxes) WITHIN CANADA*, Canada Post Xpresspost service is available for an additional freight charge - See Xpresspost Delivery Time Chart and Rate Schedule below.

* Remote, fly-in locations within Canada pay a nominal freight charge for regular or expedited delivery. These additional charges are quoted by email, prior to shipping.

Orders received prior to 12:00 pm (Noon) PST will be processed the same day and shipped within two business days (excluding weekends and holidays). During peak periods, orders may not be processed until the following day.

If you want your order shipped to an address that is different from your account shipping address, you can change the shipping address for your order by clicking on the "Shipping Address" link. Make any changes and click the "Submit" button to return to your Shopping Cart.

Canada Post will email tracking numbers once your parcel leaves our facility. If you do not receive an email, check your spam/junk folder. Adding donotreply@canadapost.postescanada.ca to your contacts will ensure you receive these emails.

Please allow 5-7 business days bank clearance for orders that are paid by cheque.

COD Service is available for a charge of $7.25 plus GST

To the United States

All United States orders will be charged a flat shipping fee of $26.95 CDN. Some exceptions may apply.

United States shipping charges do not include any additional tariffs or fees that may be incurred. All additional charges and customs clearances are the responsibility of the customer.

The Vitamin Shop reserves the right to dis-allow the shipment of certain products to customers in the United States. These would include large quantities of products consisting of liquid in glass containers, and products not yet approved for import to the US by the United States Food & Drug Agency.

All United States sales are final.

International Shipping Policy

International orders will not be processed without prior approval of shipping charges from the customer. Orders are shipped via Canada Post - Air or Surface Mail. You will be notified by e-mail within 48 hours of the shipping charges. If we do not receive your approval of these charges within four days (96 hours) your order will be cancelled.

International shipping charges may not include any additional tariffs or fees. All additional charges and custom clearance fees are the responsibility of the customer.

How to Place an Order Back To Top

Using the Shopping Cart - Placing items you wish to purchase in your Shopping Cart is easily performed by clicking on the "Add to Cart" button. Once an item has been put in your Shopping Cart, you can view the contents of your Cart at any time by clicking on the "Shopping Cart" graphic at the top of the page. If your Shopping Cart is empty, a message will appear indicating this. For items that are in the Shopping Cart, you can specify a quantity, change a quantity or remove it from your cart.

You may always continue shopping for other products and add them to your Shopping Cart by using the Search or clicking on a Category button. The contents of your Shopping Cart will remain intact while you continue or resume shopping.

To remove an item from your Shopping Basket click on the "Remove" button next to the item that you wish to remove on the Shopping Cart screen.


Checking Out - Finalizing Your Purchase Back To Top

When you are ready to finalize your purchase, choose which type of checkout you prefer to use.

Every customer may check out as a Member or a Guest, although you are encouraged to Create an Account as a Member. Logging in is much easier and a complete record of all purchases, as well as present order status information is available with just a couple of clicks. You can also re-order from past purchases by clicking the order number, a list of products will appear from the previous order and once you click the product name, you will be able to add the product to a new Shopping Cart. You can also maintain My Favourites lists for future quick-shopping use.

Member checkout is available after a customer has completed their first shopping experience and Created an Account with Canadianvitaminshop.com. All mailing and shipping information is stored for instant future use, and the Canadainvitaminshop.com site will provide order tracking and order histories.

Non-members may Check Out after filling in the Customer information screen that appears after the Check Out button has been clicked.

Customers may also change their Shipping Address at the time of Check Out, if their purchase is destined elsewhere.

When beginning the Check Out process, adjust all quantities, and choose your Shipping Method and Payment Method. Then click the Check Out button on the lower right.

If you are a Member, click the Log-In button and enter your Email Address and Password.

Once you are happy with your order and have provided the information outlined here, be sure to click the Finalize Order button on the lower right of the Confirmation screen.

Email Order Verification will be sent automatically to your email address, immediately after you Check-Out. It is a good idea to Print the Order Verification for your records, and check the Order Verification to insure that your order was placed and processed correctly.

Credit Card Payment -- Canadianvitaminshop.com accepts VISA, MasterCard and Visa Debit. Your orders will be charged at time of shipment. All payments are made in Canadian currencies. No COD orders and no cash please. The Vitamin Shop uses Verisign SSL (Single Socket Layer) encryption technology, the strongest data encryption commercially available.

Credit Card on File -- Once you have placed your first credit card order, we can hold your credit card information on file for you in our internal secure computer system. All subsequent orders can be paid for without sending your credit card information by choosing Credit Card on File as your payment method.

Phone or Fax Payment -- If you are not comfortable sending your credit card information online, you may choose Payment by Phone/Fax while checking out. You can then phone us toll-free at 1 888 386-1211 and read us your credit card number and expiry date or fax your credit card number to our secure, toll-free fax line at 1 877 386-1211. We will ship your order immediately upon receipt of your phoned or faxed credit card information.

Payment by PayPal -- Choose the PayPal option under Payment and follow the links. You will need a valid PayPal account to use this option.

Payment by Personal Cheque -- If you prefer payment by personal cheque, please mail your cheque to The Vitamin Shop, 1212 Broad Street, Victoria, BC, Canada, V8W 2A5, Attn: Mail Order. Please allow 5-7 days bank clearance for orders that are paid by cheques.

Cheques and money orders must be drawn on a Canadian bank and payable in Canadian funds. Returned cheques or NSF cheques are subject to a $25.00 collection fee.

Registering as a Member, and Logging-In as you enter Canadianvitaminshop.com, or Logging-In at Check-Out time allows Canadianvitaminshop.com to store and provide both you - our valued customer, and The Vitamin Shop with important statistics, shopping patterns and your shopping history, allowing you to find your favorite products more easily, and allowing Canadianvitaminshop.com to serve you better. As a Member, Checking Out is fast, as your shipping and billing information is on file with us, and does not have to be re-entered after each shopping visit. You can also create a My Favourites list and order from past purchases.

It is not necessary to Register or 'login' to the store. As mentioned, Guest checkout is an option, but requires you to enter our shipping and billing information each time you Check Out. Also, no shipping history or favourites are stored for Guests.

NOTE: If you want to have your order shipped to an address other than your billing address, you can enter an alternate shipping address while you are Checking Out.

Canadianvitaminshop.com offers 'Guest Checkout'. 'Guest Checkout' means that instead of Logging In, you can complete a Billing and Shipping Address form to complete your order when Checking Out.

When you are ready to purchase, choose which type of checkout you prefer to use. Guest Check Out requires you to enter your Shipping information each time you order.

Member checkout will automatically update your mailing and shipping information, and provide order tracking and the ability to reload previous orders and a favourites list for future purchases.

Once you have chosen your preferred checkout method, you are then sent to the Order Confirmation Page for final order checking before Finalizing your order.

Be sure to click the Finalize Order button on the lower right of the screen to complete the process.


Return Policy Back To Top

If for any reason you are not satisfied with a purchase, please call us to arrange for refund or store credit. Products considered to be defective can be returned to The Vitamin Shop within 30 days of Invoice date. Please phone for a Return Authorization Number, and return shipping instructions. All defective product returns must be accompanied by a Return Authorization Number and a copy of your Customer invoice.

You may return unopened items within 30 days from date of purchase. In the event that your shipment is damaged, incorrect, or unsatisfactory, please phone or email us immediately for a resolution. All returns require an Authorization Code, a copy of your Customer Invoice, and are subject to a 15% restocking charge. Please email or phone for your authorization code and shipping instructions. All returns must be sent prepaid within 30 days of the date received, and be accompanied by a Return Authorization code. No collect shipments will be accepted.

Note - The Vitamin Shop reserves the right to limit quantities purchased.


Backorders Back To Top

In the event that any items ordered are not available at the time your order is shipped, you will be contacted by phone and /or email to determine whether to -

a) Hold your order until backorders are filled (up to 15 days from receipt of order).
b) Ship your partial order immediately and cancel backorder.
c) Ship your partial order, and fill your backorder when stock is available (within 15 days of order). Shipping will be charged for orders, or partial orders under $70.00.

You will only be billed for items shipped.

Due to the complexity of locating orders once they have entered our order processing system, orders may not be changed, or added to once they have been processed. Changes to an order, after an order has been placed may be requested, but there is no guarantee that they can or will be implemented. British Columbia Orders - All applicable Federal (GST) and Provincial (PST) are charged on goods sold and shipped to British Columbia customers.

New Brunswick and Newfoundland Orders - A 13% Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) is applicable on all charges (including Shipping Costs).

Nova Scotia - A 15% Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) is applicable on all charges (including Shipping Costs).

Ontario - A 13% Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) is applicable on all charges (including Shipping Costs).

Prince Edward Island - A 14% Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) is applicable on all charges (including Shipping Costs).

Rest of Canada Orders - Federal (GST) tax is applied to all products sold and shipped to customers outside of British Columbia, but located in a Canadian Province or Territory outside of British Columbia.

Canadian Aboriginal Orders - Orders placed by Canadian Aboriginals are sales tax exempt, with the inclusion of a bonafide aboriginal status number.

United States and International Orders - Orders placed and shipped outside of Canada are exempt from Canadian and Provincial sales tax. The Vitamin Shop Ltd. is not responsible for additional tariffs or taxes that apply to items shipped outside of Canada.
